The film really goes in depth with this thesis as a lot of the mutant imagery is based off agent ornate birth defects and discolored, decrepit images of 60s suburbia in the nuketown.Īdditionally, I also think this movie had to have inspired the COD Black Ops games in some way or fashion as Marlton is basically just Doug and the multiplayer map Nuketown seems ripped straight out of this movie. If there was an Oscar for best horror movie prologues, I'd nominate Alexandra Aja for his fantastic opening sequence to his remake of Wes. The violence is raw and horrific and just brutal. R Horror Drama Action Adventure Movie 2006. Starring: Aaron StanfordKathleen QuinlanVinessa Shaw. All the actors are terrific with Aaron Stanford's performance as Doug being a standout. A family vacation takes a bloody detour thanks to cannibalistic mutants in this unrelenting remake of Wes Craven's 1977 cult horror film. I think this movie is brilliant and it is among the best films we received in the post 2000 horror wave.
